Hot stone therapy uses smooth basalt stones, a volcanic rock that holds heat exceptionally well, warmed in filtered water to a carefully controlled temperature of around fifty to sixty degrees Celsius. The therapist places the stones along the spine, shoulders, palms and between the toes, then uses additional stones as an extension of the hands, gliding them over oiled muscle.
Heat is a remarkably efficient way to relax muscle. It increases local blood flow, reduces the tissue's resistance to pressure and calms the nerve endings that keep a muscle guarded. In practice this means the therapist can achieve a depth of release with moderate pressure that would otherwise require far firmer hands-on work — which makes hot stone therapy ideal for guests who want deep relief without deep pressure.
It is one of the most popular therapies at our Nallagandla spa during the cooler months and after long stretches of air-conditioned office work, when muscles feel permanently cold and stiff.
Regular sessions produce cumulative benefits. Here is what our guests in Nallagandla, Gachibowli and Tellapur report most often.
Sustained heat softens the tissue so tension releases with gentle to moderate strokes.
Warmth dilates blood vessels, bringing oxygen and nutrients into tired muscle and clearing waste products.
Especially effective for the lower back, shoulders and knees during winter or after long hours in air conditioning.
The steady warmth is deeply sedating and slows breathing and heart rate quickly.
Gentle warmth around the joints eases the everyday stiffness that comes with age or repetitive movement.
Increased circulation gives the skin a healthy, warm glow after the session.

No. Stones are heated in a controlled professional heater and tested on the therapist's skin and then on yours before contact. If any stone feels uncomfortable, it is removed straight away.
Every stone is washed and sanitised after each guest and heated in fresh filtered water. Our hygiene protocol is followed without exception.
Guests with diabetes with neuropathy, uncontrolled blood pressure, heart conditions, varicose veins, open wounds, recent sunburn or pregnancy should choose a different therapy. Please tell us about any condition when booking.
Yes. Our 120-minute signature ritual combines hot stones with aroma therapy, and many guests add stones to a Swedish session for the back and shoulders.
Warm, loose and pleasantly sleepy. Drink plenty of water and, if possible, keep the rest of the evening light.
Same-day appointments are usually available. Call, WhatsApp or send us an enquiry and our front desk will help you choose the right therapy for your body and your schedule.
